    History

    1976
    On April 19 K.& L. SNACKFOOD LIMITED is established, having its registered office in Nicosia, with the aim of producing high quality meat products. The company's premises are initially located in the Sopaz area.

    1977-1979

    The company is engaged in the production of limited types of meat products, which are intended for exportation to Lebanon, mainly to cover the needs of the war. Gradually the products start to be sold on the Cypriot market too.

    1982
    The production unit moves to the industrial area of Strovolos where the company builds a new larger factory with a total surface of 1400 sq.m. The growth of tourism in Cyprus and the increase in per capita consumption of meat products by Cypriots, push Snackfood to limit its exports and focus on the local market.

    1987
    The production unit of the company is expanded and the factory premises are increased by 1000 square meters.

    1997
    Aiming to further increase its turnover, the company penetrates the delicatessen market. Moreover, it starts the production of Italian and German type sausages and meat products and is established in the market for the great variety it offers.

    2000
    On August 18, Snackfood enters into a strategically important cooperation with GRIGORIOU B.E. LTD and NIKAS ABEE. The aim of this cooperation is to exchange technology in the fields of research and development, as well as to make savings in the field of supplies and the production process.

    2002
    Snackfood is among the first food companies in Cyprus which start to implement systems to ensure food quality and safety at all stages of the production process and product distribution.

    2003
    One year after the successful implementation of the systems, the company is certified by the independent organizations CYS, ELOT and IQNET with two management systems : the ISO 9001 quality management system and the HACCP food hygiene and safety system.

    2004
    After inspections, the premises are approved by the competent Services of the European Union. So, the road for exportations to other European countries is open.

    2007
    A successful transition from the ELOT 1416 (HACCP) standard for food hygiene and safety to the new international standard ISO 22000, occurs within the year.

    2008
    The company begins to implement a new system for occupational health and safety, achieving a certification of the international standard OHSAS 18001 in June.

    2010

    A significant step in upgrading Snackfood’s premises is made with the construction of a new building, at Pangratiou str. in Strovolos industrial area. The new modern building is built with high standards on functionality, safety and hygiene. A few months later the company opens its first delicatessen, called Snack Deli.

    2015
    Snack Gourmet, an exquisite line of cold cuts, rich in flavours and aromas, is launched in the market. The range includes 5 products: Slow cooked ham smoked with thyme, Pastrami, Pepper salami, Roasted ham with honey and Roasted turkey breast.

    2016-2019

    Snack runs the innovative Lovesnack consumer reward scheme. With this scheme, consumers have the ability to translate the grams of their meat products into points and get special gifts for free.

    2019
    The unique product Snack Atofio Chicken Breast is awarded with the Superior Taste Award of the International Taste Institute, the leader in taste evaluation and certification for thousands of foods and beverages, in almost 100 countries.
